On 23 April, Wrocław will see the launch of another edition of the LAACT 25 - Light as a Creative Tool project, carried out at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław since 2020. The project is part of the Cultural Programme of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU. This year’s programme focuses on post-anthropocentric areas in philosophy and art. Under the initiative, there will be conferences and workshops involving multidimensional co-thinking and cooperation as well as extensive activities and discussions in the broadly understood accompanying programme. This year’s edition, co-organised by the National Centre for Culture Poland, will last until 31 May. LAACT - Light as a Creative Tool project has been running since 2018 in collaboration with universities, galleries and museums, led by Dr Robert Sochacki and his curatorial collective, noks collective.

The LAACT 25 International Scientific Conference and student workshops will take place on 6–10 May. The main idea of the event is to invite its participants to explore together possible narratives for new ecologies in contemporary art, to go beyond the tool-based perspective of multimedia arts and to seek new ways of thinking, producing and reproducing art. The conference is held in English and will include a series of lectures and presentations. It will be accompanied by afternoon workshops for students, which will feature a practical commentary on the morning speeches.

Practice / Process – exhibition accompanied by a series of performative activities, short lectures and workshops
The exhibition’s structure will be open and evolving, and it will be accompanied by lectures and workshops as well as performative activities carried out in English or Polish.
