Great hits and unforgettable sounds – another concert by young artists
On 5 April 2025 at 7:00 pm at the National Forum of Music in Wrocław, a unique concert by the Chopin University Big Band will take place, featuring the singer Natalia Muianga. The event is part of the national cultural programme of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, coordinated by the National Centre for Culture Poland. Led by Piotr Kostrzewa, the Chopin University Big Band and the talented singer Natalia Muianga invite you on a sentimental journey through the rich repertoire of Polish popular music.
The concert will begin with the piece ‘When I Fall in Love’ by Victor Young – a Polish composer who gained recognition in America. The song will be performed in the original translation by Andrzej Strzelecki, reflecting its unique atmosphere. During the evening, the audience will have the opportunity to listen to unforgettable hits by the Jerzy Wasowski and Jeremi Przybora duo, whose oeuvre is a staple of Polish music. There will also be melodies by Jerzy ‘Duduś’ Matuszkiewicz, which will take the listeners into the world of iconic Polish films and series. In addition, the programme will include pieces from the repertoire of such artists as Krzysztof Krawczyk, Ewa Bem and Zbigniew Wodecki, whose songs are an integral part of Polish musical culture.
The event fits in with the priorities of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU, which emphasises supporting young artists and promoting Polish culture internationally. The Chopin University Big Band, made up of talented students and graduates of the Chopin University of Music, is a perfect example of a young generation of artists who continue the traditions of Polish music with passion and commitment.

The Chopin University Big Band is an ensemble of the Chopin University of Music in Warsaw; its band leader and artistic director is Piotr Kostrzewa. Since 2006, they have been performing both at festivals, for example, La Folle Journée in Nantes, Crazy Days of Music in Warsaw, Jazz Jamboree Festival or Warsaw Autumn Festival, and in the largest concert halls: NOSPR in Katowice, the Baltic Philharmonic, the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic, the Warsaw Philharmonic, the Łódź Philharmonic or the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera.
Among the artists with whom they performed on stage and in recording studios, there are such prominent names as B. Trzetrzelewska, K. Dębski, H. Miśkiewicz, D. Miśkiewicz, A. Sztaba, Z. Namysłowski, G. Goodwin, Grupa MoCarta, K. Badach, J. Szrom, Ł. Lipski, S. Uniatowski, A. Wilczyńska, D. Bereza, V. Buczek, N. Kukulska, K. Cerekwicka, Ł. Zagrobelny, R. Rynkowski, D. Błażejczyk, W. Myrczek, M. Borzym, A. Dąbrowski or U. Dudziak. The ensemble has also recorded the following albums: L‘histoire du big band; Classic on Jazz; Big Band – Swingujące Święta; I Got Rhythm and Dance; Frank Sinatra. 100-lecie urodzin, and has participated in J. Majewski’s documentary film Jazz Outsider and in the Sinatra 100+ show at the 6th Floor Theatre. Moreover, the Chopin University Big Band accompanies the participants of The Voice of Poland.
Finalist of the Ladies Jazz Festival Gdynia 2020, winner of the second prize at the Złota Tarka festival. In 2024, she sang at the Festival in Opole in the Debuts category. Natalia is also a finalist of the Mam Talent TVN show and a quarter-finalist of The Voice of Poland.
