European Celebration of Music in Rzeszów – Wiktor Dyduła and MokuMoku are the second announced collective
The East of Culture – European Stadium of Culture 2025 is not slowing down. After announcing the first Kazka x Lanberry collective, it is time for another musical meeting across borders – a duo that will combine the alternative spirit of Polish pop-rock with an expressive, multi-genre sound from Georgia. The second collective of the Main Concert will be made up of: Wiktor Dyduła – one of the most interesting artists of the young generation on the Polish music scene, and MokuMoku – a Georgian ensemble known for its uncompromising approach to the musical form and stage energy.
The meeting between Wiktor Dyduła and MokuMok is a dialogue of artistic personalities in which the melodiousness and lyricism of Polish song meets the raw energy of Georgian experiment. Their joint performance will encode emotions transcending the boundaries of language and genre. It will be a collective full of contrasts, hence so fascinating.
The Main Concert, scheduled for 27 June 2025 at 8:00 pm in Rzeszów, will be one of the five final artistic events under the Cultural Programme of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU. The event is co-organised by the National Centre for Culture Poland, the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, the Estrada Rzeszowska and the City of Rzeszów.
MokuMoku – a Georgian rhythm fusion
MokuMoku, a band from Tbilisi, is one of the most important players on the Georgian alternative music scene. Their work cannot be classified – they seamlessly combine hip-hop, jazz, electronics and dance rhythms, and are afraid neither of experiments nor of a catchy groove. They are famous for their spontaneous, improvised concerts, while their sound – raw, organic and energetic – creates a unique atmosphere.
The band has played at the most important festivals in Europe, such as MadCool Festival in Madrid, Bristol Upfest, Import Export in Munich, Wagenhallen in Stuttgart or Tbilisi Open Air and Black Sea Jazz Festival. They have released five albums so far, including Blues Build The Temple (2015), Chicago Marinade (2019) and Off The Record (2023), which are a testament to their continuous artistic development. Their most recent single ‘Say What You Say’ is a nostalgic journey to the 1990s, enriched with elements of the traditional eastern mugham – a musical genre whose roots go back to Azerbaijan and Persia.
Wiktor Dyduła – a new voice of the generation
Wiktor Dyduła has won the recognition of the audience as a finalist of a popular talent show, but it was only his original songs that revealed his true artistic persona. The single ‘Tam słońce, gdzie my’ – a radio hit that stayed at the top of the AirPlay charts for five weeks – earned him a nomination for the 2025 Fryderyk Awards in the category ‘Song of the Year – Pop’ and received a triple-platinum record. His debut album Pal Licho! showed him as a complete creator – a composer, songwriter and vocalist – both sensitive and energetic on stage.
The album features such songs as ‘Ćwierć wieku’, ‘Adios’ or the title track ‘Pal Licho!’, each of which confirms his characteristic style and extraordinary charisma. Dyduła is also happy to cooperate with other artists – he appeared in the Wodecki Twist project during the Męskie Granie 2023, while his version of a classic repertoire was featured on the official release Męskie Granie 2024. Moreover, the artist made a guest appearance on recordings by Bovska and Jakub Skorupa. In 2024, he took part in the Azja Express TV show, and in April 2025 he will release his long-awaited second album Tam słońce, gdzie my.
The East of Culture Festival – European Stadium of Culture, organised by the National Centre for Culture Poland, the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, the Estrada Rzeszowska and the City of Rzeszów, is an event that every year becomes a symbolic bridge between the member states of the European Union and the countries of the Eastern Partnership. It is a space for intercultural dialogue and creative exchange – a place where tradition meets modernity, and artists from different parts of Europe co-create a new musical tale. Its interdisciplinary formula combines music, theatre, visual arts, dance, photography, cinema and public debate, constituting a unique platform for intercultural exchange. As part of the festival, we will celebrate the Main Concert – consisting of the Opening Concert and the Concert of Collectives – as well as dozens of events taking place in urban space. The streets of Rzeszów will turn into a vibrant cultural centre: from site-specific installations, through exhibitions, workshops, alternative music scene and numerous performative activities.
We invite everyone to participate in the European Celebration of Music – the residents of Rzeszów, of the region, of Poland as well as guests from abroad. The location of the Main Concert will be announced soon – it will be a place that will gain a new, symbolic dimension.
