Narodowe Centrum Kultury, jako instytucja koordynująca obchody Europejskiego Roku Dialogu Międzykulturowego w Polsce zaplanowało realizację różnorodnych inicjatyw zmierzających do propagowania dialogu międzykulturowego.

Zasady realizacji obchodów Roku w Polsce przedstawia w sposób ogólny dokument pt. Strategia Polski dla Europejskiego Roku Dialogu Międzykulturowego (pobierz dokument). W dokumencie tym określono także cele i priorytety narodowe dla Europejskiego Roku Dialogu Międzykulturowego, za które uznano:

• ukazanie społeczeństwu polskiemu różnych kontekstów i rozumienia wielokulturowości w Europie, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem polskiej tradycji i doświadczeń historycznych, współtworzących dziedzictwo kulturowe kontynentu
• ukazanie chrześcijańskich korzeni Europy oraz tradycji Polski wielowyznaniowej
• ukazanie lokalnych kontekstów wielokulturowości, sprzyjającej lepszemu wzajemnemu zrozumieniu mieszkańców i ich przyszłemu współdziałaniu.

Dodatkowo strategia kładzie szczególny nacisk na:

• działania ukazujące znaczenie zaangażowania w dialog międzykulturowy w życiu codziennym oraz podkreślanie wkładu różnych kultur i przejawów różnorodności kulturowej w dziedzictwo i sposób życia w państwach członkowskich
• działania sprzyjające budowie płaszczyzny dialogu i współpracy z sąsiadami Polski, a zwłaszcza z Ukrainą i Białorusią, pogłębieniu dialogu z mniejszością ukraińską i białoruską w Polsce oraz wspieraniu ruchów demokratycznych w krajach będących obecnie bezpośrednimi sąsiadami Unii Europejskiej
• działania realizujące ideę formalnej i nieformalnej edukacji międzykulturowej, skierowanej zarówno do dzieci i młodzieży, jak i do dorosłych.

W pierwszej kolejności na podstawie krajowego naboru wniosków dokonano wyboru 13 projektów realizujących w najwyższym stopniu cele i założenia Europejskiego Roku Dialogu. Wybrane projekty składają się na obchody Roku w Polsce, zaś instytucje je realizujące są partnerami Narodowego Centrum Kultury w przeprowadzeniu obchodów Roku. Wybrano projekty, które skupiają się na:

• Edukacji społeczeństwa na temat kultury i tradycji narodów tworzących wspólną społeczność oraz ukazanie lokalnych kontekstów wielokulturowości: Polacy, Czesi, Żydzi, Niemcy, Białorusini, Ukraińcy
• Przedstawieniu współistnienia religii chrześcijańskiej zakorzenionej w Europie z tradycjami innych religii i postaw światopoglądowych (chrześcijaństwo, prawosławie, protestantyzm, judaizm, islam)

W 2008 r. w ramach obchodów Roku podejmowane będą: konferencje, szkolenia, warsztaty, debaty, badania, wystawy, panele dyskusyjne, festiwale, publikacje, zobacz więcej.

 

Istotną rolę w przyczynieniu się do promocji dialogu odgrywa dwujęzyczna strona internetowa Roku, której podstawową funkcją jest prezentowanie polskich projektów z zakresu dialogu międzykulturowego, rozpowszechnianie informacji o obchodach Roku oraz integrowanie środowisk pracujących na rzecz dialogu.

The National Centre for Culture, as an institution coordinating the celebrations of the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue in Poland has planned implementation of various initiatives aimed to promote the intercultural dialogue.

The terms of implementation of celebrations of the Year in Poland are generally presented in a document entitled The strategy of Poland for the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue (save document). Also goals and national priorities for the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue have been defined in this document, and they are as follows:

• presentation to the Polish society of different contexts and understanding of multiculturalism in Europe, with particular focus on Polish tradition and historical experience that co-create cultural heritage of the continent

• presentation of Christian roots of Europe and tradition of multireligious Poland

• presentation of local contexts of multiculturalism, for better mutual understanding of inhabitants and their future co-operation.

Additionally the strategy particularly emphasises:

• activities that present the importance of commitment in the intercultural dialogue in everydays life and the emphasis on contribution of various cultures and signs of cultural diversity in heritage and way of life in member states

• activities encouraging construction of the common ground of dialogue and cooperation with the neighbours of Poland, especially with Ukraine and Belarus, deepening the dialogue with Ukrainian and Belorussian minorities in Poland and support for democratic movements in countries being currently contiguous neighbours of the European Union

• activities implementing the idea of formal and informal intercultural education, addressed both to children and teenagers, as well as to adults.

Primarily on the basis of the national submission of applications there were chosen 13 projects implementing to the highest degree goals and assumptions of the European Year of Dialogue. Chosen projects make up the celebrations of the Year in Poland, whereas institutions implementing them are partners of the National Culture Center in carrying out celebrations of the Year. There were chosen projects which focus on:

• Education of the public on culture and tradition of the nations forming common community and presentation of local contexts of multiculturalism: Poles, Czechs, Jews, Germans, Belorussians, Ukrainians

• Presenting the co-existence of Christian religion rooted in Europe with traditions of other religions and view-of-the-world attitudes (Christianity, Orthodox Church, Protestantism, Judaism, Islam)

In 2008 under the celebrations of the Year there will be taken up: conferences, trainings, workshops, debates, researches, exhibitions, discussion panels, festivals, publications, see more

An important role in contributing to promotion of the dialogue plays the bilingual web site of the Year, basic function of which is presentation of Polish projects related to the intercultural dialogue, distribution of information on the celebrations of the Year and integration of the environments working for the dialogue.
