W dniach 25-29 czerwca 2008, w Berlinie odbędzie się międzynarodowa konferencja dotycząca metod badawczych w kontekście wielonarodowości i wielokulturowości.

Spotkanie będzie okazją do dyskusji i prezentacji dotychczasowych badań, które mają szansę przyczynić się do zrozumienia potrzeb i wypracowania nowych metod badawczych w odniesieniu do międzykulturowego i międzynarodowego kontekstu społecznego. Tematyka poszczególnych sesji dotyczyć będzie różnorodnych dyscyplin, między innymi takich jak: socjologia, nauki polityczne, media, marketing, edukacja, gender study i inne. Kluczowe metodologiczne zagadnienia konferencji obejmować będą projektowanie badań i konstruowanie pytań badawczych, błędy badawcze, zagadnienia wielojęzyczności, metody zbierania danych, analizy i testy, dokumentacja i dystrybucja danych.

Konferencja odbędzie się w ramach Międzynarodowych Warsztatów CSDI (Comperative Survey Design and Implementation) i przeznaczona jest głównie dla socjologów, metodologów oraz osób, które praktycznie zajmują się przeprowadzaniem badań w międzynarodowym kontekście.

Materiały pokonferencyjne zostaną opublikowane na jesieni 2008.

The international conference on survey methods in multinational and multicultural contexts will be held on 25th – 29th June 2008 in Berlin.

The meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss and present the research which has been done so far and which has a chance to help understand needs and develop new survey methods in relation to cross-cultural and cross-national social context. The topics of sessions will relate to a variety of disciplines, such as: sociology, social sciences, media, marketing, education, gender studies and other. The key methodological issues of the conference will include research design and formulation of research questions, as well as research errors, the issues of multilingualism, data collection methods, analyses and tests, documentation and data distribution.

The conference will be held within the framework of the International Workshop on CDSI (Comparative Survey Design and Implementation) and it is intended mainly for sociologists, methodologists and people who carry out surveys in the international context in practice.

The post-conference materials are to be published in the autumn 2008.
