23 najbardziej aktywnych i zaangażowanych nauczycieli, z różnych miejscowości w całej Polsce, podjęło współpracę z Fundacją Centrum Edukacji Obywatelskiej w ramach programu "Wspólna przeszłość - wspólna przyszłość", który stanowi element obchodów Europejskiego Roku Dialogu Międzykulturowego w Polsce. Dobrowolnie i bezinteresownie będą  pełnić w roku 2008 rolę lokalnych koordynatorów programu.

Do zadań lokalnego koordynatora należeć będzie:

• promowanie idei Europejskiego Roku Dialogu Międzykulturowego
• informowanie zainteresowanych nauczycieli o programie "Wspólna przeszłość - wspólna przyszłość"
• rozpowszechnianie informacji na temat wydarzeń i akcji zaplanowanych w ramach programu
• utrzymywanie kontaktu i udzielanie pomocy szkołom uczestniczącym w programie
• udział i pomoc w organizacji lokalnych prezentacji
• współtworzenie serwisu informacyjnego oraz materiałów pomocniczych dla uczestników programu
• planowanie kontynuacji podejmowanych działań
  

5-6 kwietnia w Warszawie odbędzie się dwudniowa konferencja, w której uczestniczyć będą wszyscy lokalni koordynatorzy projektu. Nauczyciele będą mieli okazję poznać założenia, cele i program obchodów Europejskiego Roku Dialogu Międzykulturowego, które przedstawi im przedstawicielka Narodowego Centrum Kultury - instytucji koordynującej obchody Roku Dialogu w Polsce. Wezmą udział w warsztatach, prowadzonych przez doświadczonych trenerów CEO, których tematem będzie edukacja międzykulturowa - różne koncepcje i rozwiązania, metodologia, zastosowanie w szkole. Spotkają się z przedstawicielami wybranych organizacji pracujących na rzecz tolerancji i walki z ksenofobią. Wysłuchają prezentacji zaproszonych gości i poznają propozycje skierowane do nauczycieli i szkół. Koordynatorzy na zajęciach zaplanują również swoją przyszłą pracę i przygotują się do przeprowadzenia akcji promującej ideę dialogu międzykulturowego w swoim regionie.

The 23 most active and committed teachers from different locations from across Poland have embarked on the cooperation with the Centre for Citizenship Education Foundation under the programme ‘Common Past – Common Future’. Voluntarily and unconditionally, they will perform the role of local coordinators of the programme in 2008.

The local coordinator’s tasks will include:

• Promoting the idea of the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue
• Informing the interested teachers about the ‘Common Past – Common Future’ programme
• Disseminating information on the events and actions planned under the programme
• Maintaining relationships with and providing assistance to schools participating in the programme
• Participation and assistance in organizing local presentations
• Co-creating the news bulletin and supporting materials for the programme participants
• Planning the follow-up of the actions taken
  

A two day conference will be held on 5-6 April in Warsaw. Its participants will be all the local coordinators of the project. The teachers will have a chance to get familiar with the guidelines, objectives and programme of the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue which will be presented to them by a representative of the National Centre for Culture, the coordinating body for the Year of Dialogue in Poland. They will participate in workshops conducted by the experienced CCE coaches whose theme will be intercultural education – different concepts and solutions, methodology, and application in schools. They will meet the representatives of the selected organizations promoting tolerance and combat with xenophobia. They will listen to the presentations made by the invited guests, and they will get familiar with the proposals aimed at teachers and schools. During the workshops, the coordinators will plan their future work and will prepare themselves for carrying out a campaign promoting the idea of intercultural dialogue in their region.
